Worn mostly by Army mechanics and tank crewman, the M1938 HBT was the first of several patterns of coverall introduced during WWII, produced in a midweight sage green cotton in a herringbone twill (HBT) weave.

Beyond the beautiful fabric, they have a number of distinctive details: 13 star buttons, an integrated self-belt, hand and sideseam pockets (for access to interior garments), watch pocket, rear patch pockets and rule pocket; the unique buttonless flap pocket at right chest and side entry/pencil pocket at left standout. Pant hems adjust with button tabs. Made in USA, 1941/42.

Have been mended since being photographed. Please see last couple of photos.
