Levi's created the 501 with an original patent in 1873 using rivets to develop sturdier denim work pants. The design has mostly stayed the same over time with variations over the decades.
They are a no nonsense straight leg pant that looks good on almost any body type. The denim sits right above the waist with no tapering in the leg.
