Stunning steerhide leather PJ-27 police biker jacket, dating from the 1954-56. The PJ-27 is one of the highly sought after Buco brand designs of the defunct Joseph Buegeleisen Company of Detroit, a longtime and leading postwar motorcycle and police equipment manufacturer. Originally for highway patrol applications, with oversized chest pocket and badge mount.
Both original labels inside, chest pocket with badge holder rivet holes, press studs around the collar for a removable mouton collar, all press studs work as they should, all original Talon zippers run smoothly, all seams are solid, stitched pen holder inside the chest pocket, action back for movement, thick, supple steer-hide leather, excellent quality, weighs just over 2kg.
Noted flaws - a repaired front zipper (YKK) instead of original Talon zipper. Talon zipper at sleeves missing pull. Some surface wear throughout.
