Velva Sheen Mfg. Co. was a classic American sportswear brand, manufacturing tees, sweats and jackets for colleges, universities and the Armed Forces, beginning in 1932. Originally made in Cincinnatti, Ohio, they were famous for their exceptionally high quality tubular knit construction, which results in garments without side seams. The company changed hands many times up until the '90s, before going out of business. The brand has recently been revived by Japan's Topwin Corporation.

Tees are rarely crafted this way anymore - unmistakably vintage, marled, slubby heather grey fabric, with enormous depth of colour and character, made with incredible quality attention to detail. Single stitch construction, tubular knit body with mounted collar. Front Southern Illinois University screenprint. Made in USA.
