A wonderful, all original 1940s Longines "Tre Tacche" in solid stainless steel, with rare Breguet numeral dial and a strong, unmolested case. This watch presents in the famous Longines stepped bezel - quite deep in this example - and has a high grade Swiss movement. The term "Tre Tacche" was coined by Italian collectors and refers to the 3 notches used to open the case back (an early form of waterproofing).
Simply a gorgeous example of a superb quality timepiece. Built like a tank, this style of watch was initially for military use with a clear, easy to read dial in a smaller, less cumbersome 29mm diameter case.
This particular example is remarkably well preserved with a creamy dial and chapter ring outer seconds track. A rare watch to find with this dial layout from the heyday of the Longines watch company.
A truly special watch.
