The Galt Knitting Company of Galt, Ontario manufactured men's underwear from 1881 until around 1954, when it relaunched as Tiger Brand Knitting and pivoted to T-shirts, wovens and knits in the '60s and '70s. It grew to become a major Canadian manufacturer, producing for Nordstrom, LL Bean, The Gap and others, until eventually entering bankruptcy and being sold.
