The predecessors of modern-day Navy SEALs first appeared all the way back in WWII. UDTs (Underwater Demolition Teams), colloquially known as Frogmen, were responsible for specialized amphibious operations, beginning with reconnaissance and underwater demolition, clearing the way of underwater obstacles so ships could land and deploy troops.

This an original pair of UDT shorts, dating back to the war during the '40s. The shorts are an icon of the Frogmen and SEALs, as they were never issued to any other servicemen outside of these units. Yes, they were used underwater and swam in, hence their lack of pockets and extremely short inseam. Though cotton twill might not seem like the ideal swim fabric, these shorts have endured as a tradition in one of the oldest and most elite units in the American military. Rare on the market, you'd be hard pressed to find a pair this old, and making these even cooler is that they are stamped made by Wilson Athletic Goods Mfg. Co. and stencilled with the wearer's name. Button fly with O-ring waist belt closure. Some staining.
