The parka, a garment with which all Canadians are familiar, traces its roots and invention back to the Inuit peoples of northern Canada. Throughout the 20th century, the design and variations thereof have been produced and worn by non-Inuit for function and fashion, often without credit or benefit to those who have produced these garments for countless generations. Modern parkas, like those made by Canada Goose, all derive from indigenous designs.
