There are few leather jackets more coveted or iconic than the original US Navy G-1 Flight Jacket. Rivaled only by the USAF A-2, which the G-1 replaced, this is the holy grail of leather jackets and one of the most timelessly cool garments ever produced.

Originally issued in WW2 as the M-422/a and standardized in 1947, the G-1 continues to be issued to US Navy pilots to this day. From off-duty pilots cruising the streets to Tom Cruise in Top Gun, its impact on civilian style and popular culture is enormous.

Sold as is:
Zipper works but could be greased. Leather is good condition. Interior liner is completely intact. Missing buttons at pockets. Considerable damage to elastic  cuffs and lining.

The elastic cuffs and waistband can be repaired and replaced for an added fee, we have done this with multiple G1 and A2 leather jackets.

Flat Measurements:
Armpit to Armpit: 21”
Shoulder to Shoulder: 18"
Sleeve: 22” (missing cuffs)
Total Length: 26”

Head to our Sizing Guide to see if this will fit you.

*Please note, all of our items are vintage and used and will naturally have some wear. We think it all just adds to the piece’s charm. We’ll always do our best to properly document any obvious imperfections.
**Colors may vary slightly between photos on screen and actual piece.
