Seafarer invented the familiar denim bell-bottom US Navy dungaree in 1896. The flared leg was just the thing for sailors who often needed to quickly hike up their pants when washing the deck. Flared leg trousers had been in use by the Navy since the early 19th century, but Seafarer's denim version it adopted in 1901 became the iconic style later worn by celebrities in the '60s and '70s like Jane Birkin and Farah Fawcett.
This is an original pair of '80s Seafarer dungarees in beautiful condition. Beautiful, super soft lightweight denim. Some beautiful light fading and wear patterns were beginning to emerge when this pair stopped being worn; they retain much of their original soft, dark hue and have tons of life and potential left. Iconic fit and details, featuring a flattering slim leg with large flared leg opening. Four patch pockets front and back, one rear buttoned pocket with original anchor button. Original Talon zipper and Seafarer branded snap at waist. A beautiful pair.
Leg Opening: 12"
