Curling sweaters, also known in Canada as "Mary Maxim sweaters" (after the company which published popular knitting patterns for the sweaters in the 50s and 60s), are properly called Cowichan sweaters, after the Cowichan people of British Columbia to whom the technique and design belong. These heavy knit, weather resistant, patterned wool sweaters have been popular since the 19th century.
No need to go on a wild moose chase for the perfect sweater - we've got a Canadian classic from the '50s right here! Heavy wool knit body. Moose, trees and water scenes on back and front. Warm shawl collar and YKK brand zipper. Two front pockets. This sweater also has a satin lining to stop itchiness. In true Canadian curling sweater tradition, this was handmade. The most adorable label reads "Made Especially for You by Mary Ellen".
